Exhibition Price on Request by Cris Faria and Lukas Mettler
The third edition of Art Basel Geneva presents its recent installationPrice on Request, specially developed for the gallery space press to exit project space. The artist’s idea employs a copy in cardboard of the well-known art fairs stand’s structures. These modules, in general made of wood and steel, are found in almost every kind of congress or fair. These cloisonnes are the symbol of organization and ostentation, the more cloisonnes the space has, bigger is the stand and wealthier is the gallery.
Art Basel Geneva has began years ago a wide collection of various square meter art fair’s carpets around Europe. For this occasion this collection is going to be exhibited on the cardboard cloisonnes. The square meter carpet scalps represent each conquested fair, and are going to be disposed in the foggy and cloudy gallery.

Invited and curated by press to exit project space the Price on Request project is part of Fête de la Francophonie (Francophonie Day) in Skopje in the period of 20.03 till 30.03.2007. During this period, the Chargé de la Francophonie at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the representations of some of the member states of the Francophonie, have organized various events in Skopje. The term Francophonie first appeared at the end of the 19th century, when the geographer Onésime Reclus used it for labelling the geographical spaces where the French language was spoken. Today, the term further includes governments that use the French in their official administrative work or in their exchange with other countries. The Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie consists of 53 member states sharing universal values such as peace, democracy, human rights and sustainable development. The organization is serving as a platform for the states to pursue these common goals, be it on the political public level or through the cooperation with relevant private partners. The 20 March is marked as the official day of the Francophonie. Both the Republic of Macedonia (2006) and Switzerland (1996) are full members of the organization.
The project was supported by Embassy of Switzerland in Macedonia and Macedonia Airlines – MAT.
