Basak Senova (Turkey), one of the founding members of NOMAD from Istanbul, was invited in both 2005 and 2006 to, first present her curatorial projects in a series of lectures and conduct a curatorial workshop with young Macedonian curators, and latter to oversee the production and installation of the two exhibition projects “Citism” and “OFF”.

“cross-meeting 1”
This was two-days gathering (with open and closed sessions). Its purpose was to enhance various types of collaborative projections, making lead way to a serious of presentations, meetings and discussions. The partners of the meeting were: NOMAD (TR), EXIT Gallery (KS), < rotor > Gallery (A) and press to exit project space (MK). The participants were: Martgarethe Makovac, Basak Senova, Erzen Shkololli, Yane Calovski, Biljana Tanurovska, Darin Angelovski, Hristina Ivanoska, Nebojsa Vilic, Maja Cankulovska Mihajlovska and Elena Veljanovska. |

Basak Senova (1970) is a curator, writer and designer based in Istanbul. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design and a PhD in Art, Design and Architecture from Bilken University, and is active internationally with art and technology related projects: she attended the 7th Curatorial Training Programme of Stichting De Appel, Amsterdam in 2002; has been publishing papers on art, technology and mass media since 1995, and frequently gives lectures, she has initiated projects and curated exhibitions in Turkey and abroad since 1996; she was the editor of “art-ist 6”; she is one of the founding members of NOMAD and recently started “Upgrade!Istanbul”. Her most recent curatorial projects include “ctrl-alt-del” sound art project series (since 2003), “NOMAD-TV.network 01”, “loosing.ctrl”, “Serial Cases”, “under.ctrl”, “s-network”, “Kontrol-online magazine” and “the Container” project.
