Talk, Screenings, Book Launch and Discussion | Public-Art Projects in the Ex-communist Stadium and the legacy of post-communist architecture by Joanna Warsza / Laura Palmer Foundation, Warsaw (Poland) | The event took place in the Macedonian Center for Photography, Skopje (Multimedia centre “Mala stanica”) at 7 p.m. | The 10-th Anniversary Stadium in Warsaw was built in 1955 from the rubble of a war-ruined Warsaw. It was to preserve Communism’s good name for forty years, by the mid-’80s, it fell into ruin, becoming a post-Communist phantom. It was ‘revived’ by Vietnamese intelligentsia-cum-vendors and Russian traders, pioneers of capitalism. An open-air market called Jarmark Europa became the only multicultural site in the city, a storehouse of biographies, a major tourist attraction, a primeval forest, a realm of precarity and discount shopping, or a work camp for botanists. more...

Presentation and discussion | Mission Less Probable with the Serbian artist and activist, Nebojsa Milikic | The public discussion titled The Mission of the Mission Less Probable will follow the presentation.  Participants in the public discussion include: Branka Curcic and Zoran Pantelic (KUDA.org, Novi Sad), Ana Dzokic and Mark Neelen, (STEALTH, Belgrade/Rotterdam), Hristina Ivanoska and Yane Calovski (press to exit project space, Skopje), Aneta Spaseska (First Archi Brigade, Skopje) and Nebojsa Milikic (Cultural Centre REX, Belgrade) |  The project Mission Less Probable during the last two years focused on public re-examination and informal discussions of recent “impossible” projects, works, initiatives and ideas initiated in the cultural and political field in Serbia, SEE region and Europe. A series of collaborative and research-based workshops with a final exhibition | If you don’t have God, you’d better have a multiverse | 1:1projects (Rome) in partnership with Kadist Art Foundation (Paris) and press to exit project space (Skopje) presents three itinerant workshops taking place in Rome (25-27 September), Skopje (30 October – 1 November) and Paris (27-29 November) in which a group of invited participants will open discussions on the issues of time, space and its perception. Each workshop is envisioned as a moment of encounter and includes presentations by the participants; a guest lecture or intervention by an invited artist, scholar or scientist; and an event open to the general public. Khan will talk about human rights as a tool for social change and the use of the medium of documentary photography in the process. more…
